New York State Crime Stoppers, is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the shooting of a 25-year-old man in Greenburgh.
The shooting took place around 1:08 a.m. Sunday, August 5, in the vicinity of 136-142 North Evarts Ave., in the north Elmsford section of the town, Greenburgh police said.
Responding officers observed numerous people running from the area where a large crowd of young people had gathered for an outdoor party and barbecue, police said.
Police interviewed partygoers who denied that anyone was injured. Neither a suspect nor victim were located.
At approximately 3 a.m., a victim of a gunshot wound was discovered by police at a local hospital.
Greenburgh Police Detectives responded to the hospital and confirmed that the victim of the gunshot wound sustained his injuries at the North Elmsford location.
The shooting is still under investigation. The victim is said to be recovering.
